Against this backdrop, technology deployment across the global market has shown clear scenario-oriented differentiation: for plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles, mainstream OEMs have rolled out highly customized DHT architectures ranging from single-motor series configuration for low-cost urban commuter models to 3-speed parallel-split hybrid systems for high-power performance SUVs, while for battery electric vehicles, the previous industry-wide default of single-speed reducer is being gradually replaced by 2-speed and even 3-speed integrated EDUs for premium models, which can boost overall motor operating efficiency by 7% to 12% under full driving cycles while meeting the demand for 200+ km/h maximum speed and sub-4-second 0-100km/h acceleration. Traditional transmission component suppliers, which have accumulated decades of core R&D know-how in precision gear machining, hydraulic control and NVH calibration, are well positioned to lower the industrialization threshold of these diverse new technical solutions without completely abandoning their existing production capacity. Many leading tier-1 suppliers have launched modular product portfolios that cover everything from high-precision helical gear sets for EDUs to dedicated wet clutch packs for DHTs, which can be quickly adjusted and customized for different OEMs’ unique technical routes, instead of developing one-size-fits-all standardized parts.
